The generic structure of a
report text:
a. The
general specification: tells what phenomena under discussion are.
b. Description:
tells the phenomena is like in the terms of part of their function, qualities,
habits, and behavior.
The linguistic features of a
report text:
a. General
noun
a. Relating
verb/relation process (is, are, . . )
b. Action
verbs (birds fly, they eat)
c. Use
simple present tense.
Birds
Birds are
interesting flying animals.
They
are vertebrates and warm-blooded animals. They belong to Aves class and they
can be found all over the world.
Birds
breathe with their air pocket. Beside as respiration organ, air pocket also can
enlarge or reduce their weight when flying or swimming.
There
are many kinds of bird. Earth bird has special characteristic. They have
different morphology according to their food and their habitat. Some of them
eat seeds, pollen, fish, or meat. There are some species that live in land the
others live in the water. Land birds live in their nest.
Female
birds have specific tasks. They lay eggs and feed their baby. Beside that they
look for food for their baby.
